Band Membership and Priority Scholarship Consideration



Flute and Piccolo

  • All twelve Major and Minor Scales ( Harmonic Minor Scales Optional)

  • Prepared Flute Solo from the following repertoire: J.S Bach any sonata; Mozart- Concerto in G or D; any Paris Conservatory piece. Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces; any work of comparable quality is acceptable. The instrumentalist should prepare 8-10 minutes of music.

Oboe

  • All twelve Major and Minor Scales ( Harmonic Minor Scales Optional)

  • Prepared Oboe solo from the following repertoire: Cimarosa- Concerto in C; Handel- Sonatas; Haydn- Concerto in C. Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces; any work of comparable quality is acceptable. The instrumentalist should prepare 8-10 minutes of music.

  • Prepared Clarinet Solo from the following repertoire: Weber- Concertino; Mozart- Concerto movements I and II or movements II or III. Tuba

Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces; any work of comparable quality is acceptable. The instrumentalist should prepare 8-10 minutes of music.

Percussion

Note: All percussionists will be required to audition on the following instruments:

snare drum, mallet percussion, and tympani.


Snare Drum

  • Perform different Rudiments ( All percussionist should perform the rudiments in an open to close fashion)

  • Prepared Snare Drum Solo from the following repertoire: Cirone- Portraits in rhythm; Campbell- Rudiments in rhythm. Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces; any work of comparable quality is acceptable. The instrumentalist should prepare 8-10 minutes of music.
